"A healthy body is full of energy and functions at its best."

Discover how this gentle yet powerful technique activates your body to release stored tension and restore its natural ability to heal itself.

How it works

BSR is a unique approach that addresses the deep-rooted causes of tension in the body. We look for the exact locations of tension and help your body 'reset' them in a natural way.

As BSR practitioners, we are specially trained to recognise patterns of tension in the body. Using the body's natural biofeedback mechanism, we test where tension is held and in which direction it is locked. Where tension is locked in, the body responds with subtle reflexes, which guide us throughout the session.

Based on these responses, we can determine very precisely which releases are needed. Through the releases – firm, manual impulses applied in the right place and in the right direction – the body is reminded that there are certain blockages that need to be cleared. In this way, the technique activates the body's self-healing ability.

What is a release?

During a BSR session, also called a release, you lie fully clothed on the treatment table. Using light and very precise manual impulses, the body is invited to let go of tension.

Even a subtle impulse, when applied in the right place, can reach deep layers of muscle without force or harm. This allows the body to release stored tension step by step, helping to restore the resilience and flexibility of the muscular system.

We focus on releasing this built-up tension, so the body can reactivate its natural ability to heal itself and maintain its balance.

The Body Stress Release-process:

To get the Body Stress Release process off to a good start, we schedule three appointments right away. These first sessions give the body a strong start and support its natural recovery.

During this initial phase, changes may occur in the body that are best followed up quickly. That is why we ideally schedule the releases on day 1, day 4 and day 11. This spacing ensures the process runs smoothly and as effectively as possible.

Day 1:

Intake and release (60 min)

After an intake conversation about your health and complaints, I'll explain how BSR works. You'll then receive your first release. During the intake, there's room for your questions, and you'll go home with some practical advice.

Day 4:

Release (approx. 45 min)

Before each session, we briefly go over what you have experienced since the last one. After the session, your body will release the excess built-up and locked-in muscle tension layer by layer, so the resilience of your muscular system can gradually recover. This process takes time, and everyone moves through it at their own pace.

Day 11:

Release (approx. 45 min)

After the third session, we'll look together at when follow-up sessions are needed, based on your personal process.

If the tension in your body has developed recently, releasing it can often happen fairly quickly. However, if the tension has built up over a longer period (sometimes even years), more sessions are usually needed to give the body the space to let go of it step by step.

After a session

After a session, the body will release the excess built-up muscle tension layer by layer, allowing its resilience to return. In this way, BSR activates the body's self-healing ability. This is the same ability that heals a cut on your finger or a broken bone, for example.

The need for follow-up sessions and how often they take place differ from person to person. This depends on several factors:

• how long the complaint has been present
• how the complaint arose
• the severity and intensity of the situation
• your current living and working conditions
• the speed at which the tension is released

Help your body stay free of tension

To prevent new muscle tension from building up again, regular maintenance sessions can be supportive. A body without built-up tension can function better and often feels more energetic. By releasing tension periodically, the body stays in better balance and the effects of BSR can be felt for longer.
